Mt.Tabor Baptist Church
Dr. Ronnie M. Vinson Sr., Pastor
The Rev. Dr. Ronnie M. Vinson migrated to this area in 1974 as a newly trained dentist. After receiving the call of God to the Gospel Ministry in 1980, he was ordained by the United Progressive Missionary Baptist Association in 1983.
In 1990, he was set apart as the founding pastor of the Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the First District Association.

On the fourth Sunday of March 1990, a call to worship was answered, a zeal to serve was felt, and a desire to fellowship came forth. Twenty adults and twenty-five children entered the building at 2414 Prentiss Ave, singing, " I Am On The Battlefield For My Lord".
In the month of August, Mount Tabor selected officers and was set apart by the First District Baptist Association under the leadership of Rev. A.P. Fortner with Rev. Zebadee Bridges presiding. After 4 years on Prentiss Avenue, God blessed Mount Tabor Baptist Church with this new home at 4128 Franklin Ave.
As we come this far by faith leaning on the Lord, Mount Tabor is challenged to take this ministry to another height.
